Cryofos for Pain Relief

I hope you have been enjoying the blogs. The last 3 discussed a number of the treatment options available at Paragon Chiropractic for reducing and even eliminating pain.

Real quick, I would like to describe yet another option that will soon be available on a trial basis in the next week or so. It’s called Cryofos. I know, another weird name like MyAct, and it too, is another German made therapy device meant to help you heal quicker and get back into the game of life.

Cryofos, or what we’ll call it, The Ice Gun is a hand-held wand that looks like a gun, and from it is dispersed liquid carbon dioxide that becomes a very cold gas at room temperature.

Basically, we will wave this wand over your sore area and within a few seconds, it will reduce the surface temperature of your skin to between 39 and 34 degrees Fahrenheit. This causes a thermal shock to the area which reduces pain, but more importantly, it causes dilation of the deeper vasculature which cleans out the histamines and prostaglandins responsible for your pain. In addition to this, the Ice Gun also stimulates two tracts in your spinal cord that are responsible for pain, pressure and other sensations that might not feel so good at times.

The Ice Gun is excellent for post-surgical areas on your body, dental implant pain, joint pain, sprains and strains, inflammatory conditions such as arthritis, chronic neck and back pains- amazing!

If you would like, look up Cryofos online, and watch the videos. It’s been available in Europe for the past 12 years or so and has only recently been approved by the FDA for use in the USA.

This device is similar in action to the Ice Boxes people have been hearing about and other cryotherapies, only this is much more targeted through the wand.

I’m sorry for not getting this blog to you sooner, but we have been telling patients and putting them on a list for a week-long trial.  If the Ice Gun does what it claims to do, and our patients like it, we’ll purchase the machine and it will be available to you at Paragon Chiropractic.

If you would like to learn more about the Ice Gun, and how it might help you, please do not hesitate to contact us. If you would like to be part of the trial, also please let us know ASAP- as the trial period will be for a week or so starting around Wednesday, the 26th of June. Like I said, sorry for not getting this out sooner. Dr. Diane and I were out of town celebrating our 29th Wedding Anniversary!

As usual, there is so much more to say, but Google only likes 500 words which I’m sure I’ve exceeded.

Until the next blog- keep on keeping on!
