Well, I hope you enjoyed the previous blog. I try to write about topics in a way that offers a different point of view than the ones typically offered by conventional wisdom and the “authorities” who know best!
One really need only look at things he or she has always looked at and consider them differently. In our case, perhaps you can think and act yourself well, and find yourself in a world of your own creation.
Oddly enough, you are already there. Is this what you had in mind?
Great question. If so, DO MORE TO CREATE MORE OF IT. If not, do something else that will help get you there. There’s really no right or wrong- something either works or it doesn’t and that’s up to you!
Wow, if you’re not ready to snatch the pebble from my hand, Grasshopper…!
But where is “here” and “there” and how do you tell the difference?
For me, a person is either; surviving and pushing toward expanding his livingness, or actively pushing in the opposite direction toward succumbing.
In either case, the actual game(s) a person plays in life determines the direction he is heading.
One can actually decide to survive and push in that direction, and one can actually decide to succumb and push in that direction. If either is what the person was trying to do, and he is doing it, he is winning- so to speak.
But what about the people who are trying to survive, but only seem to be losing ground in the direction of succumb?
In my opinion, they are not playing the correct games, and are not doing those things that will help them reach their goal of surviving.
This is where I hope my blogs make a difference and a person looks at those things he’s always looked at, starts to think something might not be right, and looks at what they’ve always done a little differently.
To me, the person thinks he is playing one game but is ACTUALLY playing another one altogether, and the things he is doing align perfectly with the game he is actually playing and not the one he thinks he is playing. This would be like giving the other team the plays you’re about to run because your mom always told you sharing is nice! You can’t win, and your ability to survive is in jeopardy.
An even more obvious one is the person who exercises, and tries to eat healthily, and is not making the gains that he desires. Something is screwy with the game and those actions the person is engaged in while playing that game. The actions are doing something, but not what is desired.
One really needs to have a vision for what life should look like and where he is heading and with this, in mind, he can choose the winning path.
It was J.R.R. Tolkien in a letter to C.S. Lewis who said,
“If you don’t know where you are going, any road can take you there.”
This is to me is one of the biggest problems with health care and wellness. Very few paths can get you where you want to go, and others…, and there are MANY others will be like beating your head into a brick wall. Just ask the authorities what you should be doing if you want to know how many wrong directions you can go!
People get the idea that the body is life and whatever the body is doing determines if one is winning or losing in life. But what is controlling the body? And can this life energy guide it along a path that is desirable by that life energy- in other words, YOU! Can you steer and control your body where you want it to go?
In my opinion, yes! And this is health and wellness.
At Paragon Chiropractic the treatments a person receives and the recommendations we make are supposed to work and help you survive better. This is our intention and we assume it is our patients’ intentions as well. But sometimes there is another game afoot, and with spending whatever time it takes to listen to our patients and what they are trying to achieve we can bring about the changes necessary to get that person’s actions driving them up the hill along the path of survival!
Well, thanks for reading along.
Please let us know if we can be of help- it’s a game we can all win!
