1/1
Hello!
As usual, thank you for reading along, and I hope the previous blogs gave you something to think about.
It was my hope that by encouraging people to look at, and consider the potential of their life’s journey, they might find more excitement in living rather than experimenting with drugs, alcohol, social media, and the many other miracle wonders that might “solve” the pain of a life not lived, and hopefully (cough, cough…, sob, sob) make the journey a little more tolerable.
A person can ALWAYS change his or her mind. I didn’t say it would be easy, but then what would be the point of living if it was easy?
Before getting too far along, if you will look up in the right-hand corner of this blog you will see a number, a slash, and another number.
All too often my blogs get way too loooooonnnnnggggg, and have to be written in serial. The designation, as in this case 1/1 means this is the first blog in this series of one. One might see a 4/7 which means this is the fourth in a series of seven blogs.
This should help readers follow along and know where we are on the topic at hand.
With that in mind, there is so much that needs to be said on each of these subjects, but only so much that people will listen to, or take the time to read…, and then, the big question…,
Was I able to make my point?
Hopefully so.
Again, I am not trying to tell anyone what to think, only encouraging them to think.
I do not consider myself some type of sage or expert just someone who knows that study is the way out of this trap, this self-created trap of waking each day and re-living yesterday; and hopefully, successfully enough that we do not have to re-live the same yesterday again today!
The journey is nothing, if not progress. Progress.
The ability to read and assimilate, to read and duplicate, to read and understand, to read and think…, to decide whether this information is something we can use, or should it be tossed into the trash- to me that is our divine ability, an ability unknown to all other life forms on this planet, and is the only salvation that we possess.
Study.
Many people that I see each day are disillusioned and wondering where this Country and the world are heading.
It was Abraham Lincoln who said,
“The thing to remember in times like these is that there have always been times like these.”
How did he know this?
Lincoln was an avid reader and spent a great deal of his life studying.
Harry Truman, also an avid reader and studier stated,
“There is nothing new in the world except the history you
do not know.”
We have been down these roads soooooooooooo many times, and for sooooooooooooooo many lifetimes, and millennia that it could almost make a person want to tear his head off and run screaming into the night! (Don’t bother, I’ve tried it and it doesn’t work!)
Here’s the thing, and I’ll leave you with this thought…,
Reality is nothing more than agreement. We say it is so, and so, it is so.
Many might think the reality was given to us, and something we are stuck with, but it wasn’t, and isn’t. It is because we agreed that it is.
There is nothing that exists that we did not agree to at one time or another, and/or invent or create.
Now there’s a challenge- find something that exists that was not something we invented and agreed to…, go ahead…, Good Luck!
Consider your role in the world you find yourself in, and know that you and I most definitely had a hand in it.
I say this because it is easy to feel trapped, stressed, lost, oppressed, suppressed, depressed, and above all unimpressed!
It’s been posited that life is simply a circuit of things that have happened before, and will continue to happen, over and over and over again.
Stoic and Roman Emperor, Marcus Aurelius once said,
“Whatever happens has always happened, and always will, and is happening at this very moment, everywhere. Just like this.”
Sadly, I consider this to be very true, BUT, more importantly, it is only so because we have forgotten that it can be different, and we need only change our minds and create a new way.
How best to do this? Study! My goodness…, STUDY!
It was George Santayana who said back in 1905,
“Those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it.”
Nap time is over…, it is time to study.
Pick up any book and start to read and realize that there is another person on the face of the earth, and he or she may or may not have an opinion or thought that is the same or different than yours, and either way…, the whole world did not collapse because of this! In fact, it expanded!
Alright, so much for my blog on handling Holiday back pain!
