In part one of this two-part blog we learned about how changing your diet can make a huge difference in how you feel. To continue on with the top of “The Spirit of Play” Dr. Dave has shared more with you on how you can be your own healthcare provider. In case you missed part one, you can read about it HERE!

I hope you can see the point I am trying to make. Treating diseases and preventing diseases does not give you more life. It is a spirit of play and finding those things that work for you, tools that you can use toCREATE more life that creates the quality of life we are all looking for.

Now I AM NOT advocating that people stop taking their medications and become their own doctors. Not at all!  But what I am saying is maybe we should start thinking for ourselves and finding ways that improve our abilities and the quality of our lives instead of being given some medication or advice that doesn’t work for us, and believing well, I guess that’s how it is because Dr. So and So says I have to live with it and there is nothing else I can do.  Dr. So and So might not be able to do anything more, but maybe you can!

Start paying attention to yourself. This is not listening to your body, but rather listening to you- that life energy, that soul, that spirit paying attention to how the body responds to certain foods, relationships, exercise, activities, jobs, friends… the things you consider your life, and discovering what works best for you and actually helps you create the life you want to live!

Just ask yourself, “Is it working?” Are the things I am doing, the people I am around are they helping me create the life I want to live?

With your next meal, see how you feel before eating, while you are eating and after. Do you feel a sense of calmness and peace? Do you feel like you could bend over and tie your shoes or go for a walk? If not, SOMETHING IS WRONG!  Think about what types of changes or modifications might help and try them.

How about at work? Does work make you feel energized and awake? Or is it a soul-sucking nightmare that you can barely walk away from at the end of the day?  Again, think about what types of changes or modifications might help and try them.

This is why I say life is like a game. It is a series of trials and errors and finding what works best for you to create the life you want to live. Looking at things and trying to find a way to win. Live in the direction of winning, not losing. Get the corner office, bring your own lunch, say “Hello” to someone you’ve been meaning to- it doesn’t matter. Like a football coach you just keep trying combinations, and various plays to see what works.

As you start to look around and make a few discoveries about yourself, please let us know if we can help. Paragon Chiropractic is always here, and can I tell you some stories about people who took the bull by the horns and put themselves exactly where they wanted to be in life.  It truly is amazing!

Well, take care, and best wishes!
